Have you liked what you've been hearing, and now you want a show of your own? Maybe you don't like what you hear and you want to show them how it's done... Well don't fret! Here's how to be a RED DJ: 1. Take a look at our flashy new timetable, and see when you're free to be trained and when you'd like your slot.Then email Mike at mjcris (you'll have to add @essex.ac.uk if you're not a student, or you're emailing from a non-essex account). 2. Join the Media Guild. This is an important one. You can to this one of 2 ways.- Go to www.essexstudent.com/Media, put in your username (your PRID) and your password, and click "Add to Basket" on the Media Guild Standard Membership. We don't know why they call it that... there is only one type of membership. - Go to the SU Reception, which is in the SU corridor. Need help? Remember that with Media Guild membership you can join R:TV (television station) or The Rabbit too. It's a 3-way membership. If you're on air more than twice, or you write more than 2 articles, this becomes an obligation... so you might as well make the most of it! 3. Once that has been done, and you've been trained up... Meet the team! The Programme controllers are the ones you have to speak to in order to secure your slot. Weekend/Evening show: cphold (...add @essex.ac.uk as above) Daytime show: sanderb (... add @essex...) And you're done!If you still need a few more training sessions, or want to sit in on somebody's show, or have someone sit in on yours, just repeat step one. If you're unhappy with your timeslot... repeat step 3. And we can't think of any reason why you'd have to repeat step 2 until October 2008.
